Chemo Side Effects

What causes the side effects?

The chemo treatment drugs attack the hiding brainless cancer cells, which are fast growing. Sadly, the drugs accidentally wound the normal intelligent cells, which cause the side effects of chemo treatment. Wonderfully, every teen doesn’t get all the side effects and most get few, if any.

The common side effects

• Nausea and vomiting
Temporary hair loss
• Taste and smell change
Mouth Sores

How long do the side effects last?

The side effects usually gradually vanish after chemo treatment ends because the normal intelligent cells recover quickly. The recovery time to regain back to normal energy varies from teen to teen. Normaly, 6 to 12 months.

Long term

Most teens have no long-term side effects from chemo treatment.
