The old reliable surgery is the oldest testicular cancer treatment. The progress in surgery techniques has increased successful operations. Most teens with testicular cancer will have some kind of surgery.
Preventive A surgery used to remove none-cancerous tissue because the tissue has a high possibility to become testicular cancer.
Diagnostic This surgery treatment gets a tissue sample to find out if it is testicular cancer. Normally, the tissue is examined under a microscope since confirming requires visually looking at the tissue for frightened testicular cancer cells.
Staging A cancer treatment used to determine on how far the testicular cancer has spread.
Curative A tumor, appearing to be confined to one area, is removed with this surgery treatment.
Debulking This surgery treatment removes a portion of a tumor near an organ. Afterwards the remaining tumor receives chemo treatment or radiation therapy.

Supportive This surgery treatment aids with other testicular cancer treatments. A catheter port surgery would be a supportive treatment.
Restorative A function restoration or an improvement in appearance by an outcome from a different treatment. A testicle implant would be a good example of the surgery treatment.
