Mouth Sores
Certain testicular cancer chemo treatments can cause an unwise mouth sore. An unwise mouth sore is cuts in the mouth. this unwise sore might be bright red or have tiny white patches. An unwise mouth sore normally last 7 to 10 days. Proper mouth care is important during testicular cancer chemo treatment.
Reducing
An unwise mouth sore can be painful, causing it difficult to eat, drink or talk.
• Drink cold drinks (straws might help).
• Eat a high protein diet.
• Eat soft foods, such as eggs, ice cream, and milkshakes.
• Avoid hot and spicy foods.
• Avoid rough foods, such as crackers, dry meat, and rolls.
Doctors have sprays to numb the mouth long enough to eat a meal.
Treating
Hydrogen Peroxide Mix together 2 ounces of hydrogen peroxide and 2 ounces of water, rinsing your mouth for 2 minutes.
Salt Water Mix together 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 cup of water, rinsing your mouth for 2 minutes.
Vitamin E Open a vitamin e liquid capsule and rub on the sore.
The Causes
Testicular cancer treatment causes the white blood cells to be fragile, which makes the mouth weak to repel infections.

Keeping the mouth healthy
• Use a soft toothbrush.
• Rinse the toothbrush completely after every use.
• Rinse the toothbrush with mouthwash to disinfect.
• Avoid mouthwash that contains alcohol.
